2017 ACT DECEMBER RESULT ANALYSIS.
As a test run, ACT with Writing was conducted December 09 at three centers in Nigeria. The three test centers are International Community School, Abuja, Dowen College and TTC Regency School both based in Lagos. The results of the test in the three locations indicate a very encouraging outcome. Out of 40 students that wrote the test, only 4 Candidates (10%) scored below 20. There is only (1) candidate who scored 17 out of 36 composite scores, 2 candidates scored 18 out of 36 composite scores, and 1 candidate scored 19 out of 36 composite scores.
8 Candidates (20%) scored between (20-23). (1) scored 20 out of 36 scores; (4) scored 21 out of 36 composite scores; (2) scored 22 out of 36 composite scores; (1) score 23 out of 36 composite scores. The score range qualifies the candidates to gain admission to 2-Year Colleges in the United States of America.
6 Candidates (15%) scored between 24-25. The candidates that scored this range of ACT composite scores can obtain admission into most of the accredited universities throughout the United States of America, Canada, and other universities where ACT scores are accepted.
8 Candidates (20%) scored between (27-30). The candidates in this score range may qualify to get admission and some academic (Merit) scholarships from most 4-Year Colleges and Universities in the United States of America, Canada, and universities where ACT scores are accepted.
4 Candidates (10%) scored between (31-34) out of 36 composite scores. This group of candidates have the academic competitiveness to seek admission to highly competitive colleges and universities throughout the world for admission including US Air Force Academy. This score range is considered a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) scale
One of the students in this score range has already submitted applications to four highly competitive universities in the United. Two of the Universities are already processing the candidate’s early admission.
This being the first outing of our students at taking ACT in Nigeria this way, the results are very impressive.
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF SUBJECT AND LANGUAGE TEACHERS WERE PROVIDED NEEDED RESOURCES TO GUIDE, AND TEACH STUDENTS IN THE ART OF PREPARING AND WRITING ACT?
Also, GIEVA Organization is convinced that the results will open doors for more Nigerian students to access education wherever ACT composite scores are accepted
